New Year & Resolutions

I definitely wasn't looking forward to re-entering real life today. We had so much fun over the holiday break and the girls were entertained enough that they never got to that point where they are killing each other out of boredom. Besides the moment this morning when I had to moderate a disagreement over whether it is worse to call each other "stupid" or "idiot" I was honestly sad to see the girls off to school.

I admit it feels nice to get back into a normal routine. With that routine I've had a moment to think about this new year and what resolutions I'd like to make, even though I'm not much of a resolution maker. Maybe that has something to do with the fact that for countless years prior I always felt like if I was going to make a resolution, it had to be weight loss related. I've had this reoccurring resolution long before I even needed it. Sad. I know.

With that goal off the table, I feel immense freedom. What should I work on? I could create a long list of knit picky things, but really I just want to work on enjoying life in the moment and being a kinder, more selfless person to those around me. If I can do those things, it will be enough.
