Ava decided she wanted bangs and she wanted them immediately, so I got out the scissors and went to town. I think they are adorable, although I don't look forward to when she decides she no longer wants bangs and has to grow them out. What I love about the above picture of her new bangs is the smudge of dirt on her face. We have been blessed with gorgeous weather this last week (think 69 degrees, sunny & springlike - yeah Bay Area!). All the kids on the street are constantly congregating outside riding bikes, scooters, and skateboards up and down the street. I feel so lucky to have so many fun kids of similar ages to my kids right on our street. I'm glad they can enjoy each other and get outside for imaginative, unstructured play time. Especially in January.
In other fun news, Naomi took her first step today and threw her first temper tantrum. The first tantrum is always so darn cute. She was banging her cup of cheerios on the ground, watching them fly every which way. When I took the cup away, her face went red, she howled and threw herself back on the ground. Only, she kept throwing herself into something (i.e. chair leg, table leg), so she had to sit back up and try again. Finally she made it down to the carpet and lay howling until I gave her her cup back. Then the process repeated several times. We got a kick out of it, which I must remember going forward when I no longer find her tantrums cute and/or funny.

Love the bangs! So cute!
Must be the age. I just took Tay for a haircut a few weeks ago, and she insisted on bangs, as well. They are adorable, though!
