Walking
Logic tells me that it will happen, but really I don't expect my baby to grow up. Now here she is, pushing herself up and walking around the room. She falls every few steps, but the important thing is that she's decided she wants to be a walker, so she pushes her self right back up and wobbles along.

Protect Your Melon
Naomi went on her first bike ride last weekend. It was 70 degrees and beautiful. We cleaned out our garage, which happened to be filled with black widow spiders!!!! Then we loaded up the bikes for a ride at Rancho San Antonio park. They have a trail that ends at a small farm, and we were pleasantly surprised to find that baby sheep had been born just that morning. Naomi loved riding on the back of the bike, and I loved that she's finally big enough to wear her adorable melon helmet that I couldn't resist buying last summer.
Weekend at the Coast
In the last month we have only had two cold and rainy days. They fell on a weekend, and something about that weather made us want to be by the ocean. We took a drive to Half Moon Bay for sea food, beach combing, and wave watching, and found ourselves at Sam's Chowder House, where we gorged on dungeness crab, lobster rolls, and other yummy goodness.
The next day we realized we had not had our fill of cold ocean breezes, and went on down to Monterrey. We went to the aquarium, filled our pockets with more shells, and continued the sea food feast. By the end of the weekend, we felt like we had been on a mini-vacation by the sea, only we got to sleep in our own beds at night.
