Naomi's smiling, and it just melts my heart. She's been smiling a lot tonight because she's feeling good. You would feel good too if you finally went poop after 6 days. That's about how long she goes between poops, apparently because she hasn't quite learned how to do it successfully. It's called dyschezia, and it consumes my life. Yes, my life is consumed by Naomi's poop - or lack thereof. While I'm glad she most likely doesn't have something worse, like hirschsprungs, it stresses me out, particularly because there's not much I can do to help her. I'm eliminating dairy and eggs from my diet to help minimize her painful, stinky gas (which could clear a room) and that's about all I can do other than wait. Wait and clean up the constant spit-up that comes out as she strains. Wait for moments like tonight when we do the happy dance for the chance to clean a poopy diaper and see Naomi feeling good and SMILING!
