5 years ago this sweet girl joined our family. We celebrated her birth today by having the family over for pizza and cake. It was her first birthday party without some sort of melt-down and she acted so grown up and gracious to her guests. Each time she opened a gift she would gasp and say "I love it so much. Thank you!" I'm so proud of the little lady she is becoming.
Tomorrow we attempt her first ever "friend" party. Fingers crossed that it goes as well as tonight. I went back and forth over having the party at a bouncy house place or just doing it at home, and decided to keep the first party simple and sweet. Honestly, she had such a great time with her cousins tonight, she hardly needs another party.

Mindy - I remember running into you at Safeway when you were pregnant with Ava - I hadn't seen you in a long time, and it was so fun to find out you were going to be a mom. Could that really have been 5 years ago?
